We were dazzled by the distinctive sound of London outfit and first End of the Road signings' Modern Woman's aptly-titled debut 'Offerings' back in June. Back with a second single, 'Juniper' is an even more whimsical take on the hard-edged folk they've been pursuing. Guided by Sophie Harris' beautifully idiosyncratic vocals, rocky instrumental elements build around her meandering melodies. Cinematic strings add a welcome organic feel to gritty piece, which rises and falls in intensity throughout.
